With high school football season beginning, a new sign on the bleachers at Pendleton County High School will welcome Wildcat fans. This summer, Kelson Thorne, an art junkie from Petersburg, designed and painted the “Home of the Wildcats” sign. The Wildcats will open their season at 7 p.m. Friday on the road against Greenbrier West. On Sept. 1, they will host the East Hardy Cougars. Game time is 7 p.m.
