As the days get longer and the temperature rises, the town of Franklin awaits the opening of Warner’s Drive-In. This will be the 70th anniversary for the outdoors cinema, which opened July 10, 1952.
The committee for Warner’s Drive-In met on May 19 to discuss the new season for the popular Franklin summer attraction. Board members stated they were fully staffed and ready for the season.
The weekend of May 27 and 28 opens the season. “Top Gun” will be the first movie of the year and will run two consecutive weekends. The following weekend, June 10 and 11, the drive-in will show “Jurassic World Dominion,” which will also run two consecutive weekends. The rest of the season’s schedule will be released at a later date.
Gate prices remain the same at $4 per child 5-11 and $6 for people 12 and over, with children under five years old getting in free.
However, there are some changes. Due to the increase in food prices, snack prices have gone up just a bit. But snacks will not be the only thing served this season! Be on the lookout for special treats provided by local bakers.
As always, movies start at dusk.
