Suzanne Jennifer Terschueren, 57, of Kaarst, Germany, and formerly of Harrisonburg, Virginia, passed away Oct. 1, 2024, in Germany.
She was born Dec. 20, 1966, and was the daughter of the late Dr. H. Luke Eye and Elsie Peppel Eye.
Ms. Terschueren graduated from Franklin High School, received a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University, and a master of business administration degree at James Madison University.
She worked in Dayton, Ohio, where she met her former husband, Joerg Terschueren. She moved to Germany with him and learned to speak German fluently. She worked for international companies such as NRC and NEC and quickly became integrated into German society, while also becoming president of the International Women’s Club in Dusseldorf.
In 2005, she moved back to Harrisonburg, Virginia, with her two children, Aviana and Noah. She held various jobs in real estate and marketing and was a long-time member of the Spotswood Country Club.
She was an avid golfer, enjoyed skiing, and harbored a love for animals, especially her two cats, Sweetie and Gizmo.
Surviving are a daughter, Aviana N. Terschueren of Norfolk, Virginia; and a sister, Elizabeth A. “Betsy” Smith and husband, Elwood of Upper Tract.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Noah Terschueren; and a brother, Andrew Eye.
A graveside service was conducted Saturday at Woodbine Cemetery in Harrisonburg, Virginia, with Pastor Terry Wyant-Vargo officiating.
