Shirley Marie Sites, 84, of Seneca Rocks passed away March 27, 2024, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born on March 12, 1940, in Riverton, the daughter of the late Lester and Mary Rebecca (Mallow) Dice.
Mrs. Sites was a 1957 graduate of Circleville High School and attended North Fork Church of the Brethren. She was a lifelong farmer and homemaker that took pride in her family. She was a dedicated mother, wife and grandmother that had a passion for caring for the animals on the farm, especially the sheep and cattle.
She was twice married. Her first husband and father of her children, Odith Vandevander, preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 2011. Her second husband, William Rex Sites, preceded her in death in 1990.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters, Donna Bennett of Seneca Rocks and Bonnie Vandevander (Galen Arbaugh) of Circleville; two sisters, Reva Arbaugh (Richard) of Circleville and Loretha Vandevander (Delbert) of Whitmer; three grandchildren, April Vandevander (Gary Jack), Derek Arbaugh (Roxanne), and Shawn Arbaugh; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by an infant sister.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Basagic Funeral Home chapel in Franklin with Pastor Dan Arbogast officiating. Interment was in the Dice Family Cemetery.
