Roger Lee Mitchell, 70, of Upper Tract passed away at his home on Oct. 12, 2024.
He was born March 21, 1954, at Petersburg and was the son of the late Carl Wilbur Mitchell and Macie Lee (Armentrout) Mitchell.
Mr. Mitchell was a 1972 graduate of Franklin High School and had worked at Ruddle Equipment and Franklin Oil Company.
In 1991, he became a poultry grower and over the years raised chickens for Perdue, Rockingham and Pilgrim’s.
He was a member of the South Mill Creek Church of the Brethren, where he served as deacon, trustee and treasurer.
On Dec. 8, 1977, he married Bonnie Gail (Hartman) Mitchell, who survives.
Also surviving are a brother, Ralph Mitchell (Sue) of Upper Tract; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Smith; and a brother-in-law, Carroll Smith.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m. Saturday at Kimble Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor William Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Kline Cemetery.
