Norma Remona (Whiteman) Westfall, 87, of Upper Tract passed away on Jan. 15, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Westfall was born on Feb. 11, 1937, in Purgitsville and was a daughter of the late Philip Rosser Whiteman and Carrie Elizabeth (Shoemaker) Whiteman.
She was a 1953 graduate of Romney High School.
She worked for Romney Shoe Factory for several years and later did auto detailing work for the late Johnny Halterman in Moorefield.
She was a member of the Moorefield American Legion 64 Auxiliary.
She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and most of all spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and especially at the family’s campsite.
Her husband, Lawrence W. Westfall, preceded her in death in 2016.
She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Keiter, and husband, Barry of Upper Tract; two grandchildren, Jessica Keiter and Gabriel Keiter; seven great-grandchildren, Aubree Keiter, Joe Boucher, Cyrus Adkins, Grayson Hugh Gilbert, Sawyer Gilbert, and Mason and Lucas DiFalco; two great-great-grandchildren, Ember Allen and Grayson Boucher; a sister, Juanita Wratchford of Aberdeen, Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Samuel Clay Keiter; five brothers, Charles, Gene, Orville, Marvin and Loyd Whiteman; and a sister, Irene Dolly.
In honoring her wishes, her body was cremated.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour before service.
