Ila Jones, Azalea Waddell and Brody Wimer have been named outstanding students of the month for December at Pendleton County Middle/High School.
Jones is the Academic Student of the Month. A senior, she is a member of the track team and the National Honor Society. Her plans are to go to college to attain a degree in a medical field. She is the daughter of Lea and Chris Jones of Franklin.
Wimer is the James Huffman Responsible Student of the Month. A sophomore, he is the son of Michael and Joy Bennett and the late Spud Wimer of Franklin. He enjoys hunting and fishing. He plans to attend South Branch Technical Center to study welding. His goal is to get a job as a welder at James Madison University.
Waddell is Pendleton County Middle School Student of the Month. A seventh grader, she is the daughter of Kellee and Gatan Waddell of Seneca Rocks. Her extra-curricular activities include basketball and volleyball. She is a member of the Ruritan Club. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, skiing, and mountain biking. Currently, she is interested in a career in marine biology.
These students receive a T-shirt, $50 from Pendleton Community Bank, and movie, bowling and ice cream passes courtesy of South Branch Cinema 6 & South Branch Potomac Lanes.
