The weather was perfect for a reunion on July 22 and 23 as the descendants and friends of the late Isaac and Lucy Vandevander Hartman gathered for their annual two-day reunion.
The blessing for the Saturday evening meal was given by Emilie Hott. The meal consisted of hot dogs and pork and was prepared by Jasper, Jay and Jacob Hartman, Joseph Calhoun and Darren Hedrick. Family members were assigned side dishes.
Evening entertainment was provided by Mika and Tiffany (Hartman) Ah Loe and family, doing the traditional dances of the Hawaiian Islands.
Attendance on Saturday was 183.
Brittany Amtower gave the lunch blessing on Sunday. The meal was potluck prepared by family and friends.
Joyce Calhoun, president, and Betty Kimble, vice president, shared their appreciation to everyone who had helped with any reunion preparation.
Adam and Katie Hott furnished the wagon for the main stage.
This was election year for the leadership positions. The attendees voted to keep the same members: Joyce Calhoun, president, Kimble, vice president, Natalie Chapman, treasurer, and Cindy Hartman, historian/secretary.

Cindy Hartman reported family updates for 2022-2023. There were 23 births, nine marriages and nine deaths.
The following people were recognized: Non direct line of Isaac and Lucy present — oldest male – Woodrow Hartman, 106, the nephew of Isaac Hartman, and oldest female – Ruth Warner, 83, great-niece of Isaac Hartman; and direct line of Isaac and Lucy present — oldest male first cousin – Garry Simmons, 85, oldest female first cousin – Barbara Harman, 84, youngest female first cousin – Shelia Lundquist, 59, youngest male first cousin – Perry Simmons, 72, youngest baby male – Ronnie Milton Davies, two months, youngest baby female – Hazel Hartman, 10 months, longest married – Bobby and Pat Bodkin, 55 years, shortest married – Hunter and Makenzie Jones, four months, farthest traveled- Rob and Latrisha Frye and family of Nappa, California, and largest family present – Larry and Carla Hartman, 39.
A trivia game about the 14 children of Isaac and Lucy was played. This game was to help the family to know more about the siblings.

Treasures in the hay was provided for children ages 3-7 and 8-12, and items were furnished by Perry and Linda Simmons.
Kid water balloon toss winners were Bryce Kimble and Hyrum Hartman. Adult water balloon toss winners were Jacob and Jordan Hartman.
Kid egg toss winners were Taylor and Aubree Frye. Adult egg toss winners were Seth Chapman and Isaac Hartman.
This year, one of our younger generations got involved with the games. Carolina Kimble organized the cupcake walk. The winners were Olivia Lambert, Aubree Frye, Briley Geltz, Darren Kimble and Hyrum Hartman. Attendance on Sunday was 191.
