Saturday morning, Ernie and Sarah Morgan of Franklin were traveling east on U.S. Route 33 on the Shenandoah Mountain when their Dodge Ram caught on fire. The Morgans were hauling 12 calves in a gooseneck trailer to the Shenandoah Valley Livestock Sales in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The calves were released from the trailer, and as of Tuesday morning, 11 of the 12 calves had been retrieved. The location of the remaining calf is known. Photos courtesy of Amanda Morgan.
