David Howard Snyder, 76, of Brandywine passed away Nov. 16, 2022, at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
He was born April 21, 1946, at Lima, Ohio, and was the son of the late George Willard Snyder and Mary Alice Davidson Snyder.
Mr. Snyder was a veteran, having served 20 years in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a cook at the Mountaineer Club, and later opened Fat Boy’s Pork Palace, which he owned and operated for seven years. He had also worked at Hanover Shoe Company. He was a member of the Killbuck Riflemen, and he travelled extensively throughout the United States participating in Revolutionary War re-enactments.
He was Catholic by faith.
On June 19, 1970, he married Shirley Lynn Ervin Snyder, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Thomas Edwin Francis Snyder of Brandywine; two sisters, Dianna Row of Lima, Ohio, and Carolyn Coolidge of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Kenneth Snyder of Lima, Ohio; and a grandson, David Wendell Cale Snyder.
His body has been cremated and his family will commemorate his life privately.
