South Branch Career and Technical Center students attended the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference March 22 – 23 at Fairmont State University. Forty-nine competitors from SBCTC participated in the event.
Twenty-three students placed either in first, second or third in their respective skill competitions. Three Pendleton County School students earned medals.
Receiving a gold medal was Kinley Hinkle who modeled nails done by Victoria O’Callaghan from East Hardy High School. They will attend the national conference in June at Atlanta, Georgia.
Dillon Poling competed in the technical computer applications division and was awarded a silver medal.
In the beginner cosmetology category, Nataly Hedrick received a bronze medal.
The SBCTC chapter was awarded a gold “Chapter of Distinction” award.
