Last week, the Cumberland Times-News reported that the Southern Garrett Rams would cancel the remainder of their season. This includes the game this Friday against Pendleton County at Franklin
Against Moorefield, only 17 players suited up in the 43-8 loss on Sept 8. Two players endured serious injuries in the game, while others were “banged up.”
The program will continue to field a junior varsity team with the aim of returning to varsity play next fall. Since Southern played games this season, opponents can either claim a forfeit or schedule another game.
The Wildcat football squad will next take the field on Sept. 29 at Tucker County.
