Garry Charles Propst, 76, of Franklin died March 24, 2022, at his home.
He was born Dec. 21, 1945, at Franklin and was the son of the late Hubert Hull and Edith Propst Stone.
Mr. Propst was a 1964 graduate of Franklin High School and had worked as a custodian at Franklin Elementary School, retired from Walker Manufacturing after 39 years of service, and owned and operated Propst Auctioneer Services for 39 years. He later enjoyed being the proprietor of an antique store and had a passion for blacksmithing and making handles for tools.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and attended Friends Run Church of the Brethren.
His wife, Naomi Grace Nine Propst, preceded him in death on March 11, 2013.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Landis (Brian) of Franklin; an adopted son, Alexander (Shelia) of Weyers Cave, Virginia; a granddaughter, Sabrina Mallow (Chris) of Franklin; and a grandson, Cody Alexander of Franklin.
A funeral service was held Sunday, March 27 in the chapel of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor David Morris officiating. Interment was at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.kimblefuneralhome.com.
