Several inches of snow fell on Pendleton County ridgetops last week, giving a view of snow that mild weather made rare this year. In the Elk Mountain/Big Mountain area, which is located 10 miles south of Circleville at an elevation of 3,720 feet, Edna Mullenax reported 12 inches from May 1 to the morning of May 4.
