Circleville High School’s class of 1972 gathered July 9 for a 50-year reunion with 25 of its 39 graduates attending, along with classmates and guests, at the Historic Circleville High School. Attendees greeted each other during social hour, enjoying punch, veggies and fruits, candies and cake pops, as they caught up with former classmates.
Jerry Day welcomed all, and Shirley Bland Mullenax gave a blessing for the reunion and a delicious meal prepared by Lucy Kisamore and her catering company. After the meal, desserts of delicious pies and a cake with senior pictures of each graduate made by Kisamore concluded the meal.
Day, with assistance by Pam Bland Botkin, presided over the business meeting. Botkin led the planning of the reunion, along with committee members Vickie Lambert Colaw, Terry Richards, Day and Pam Boggs. Plans were made to have another reunion in five years. Recognition was given to those who helped plan the reunion.
Terry Richards presented the display in memory of deceased classmates, Ted Warner, Jean Hedrick and Marlene Turner Ours.
Memories of high school years were shared by various graduates.
Three wonderful gift baskets consisting of West Virginia items were presented to lucky door prize winners. Small gifts were given to graduates who could recall class colors, class motto and other facts. Harold Mullenax closed the reunion with a prayer. Before leaving, graduates gathered for a class picture.
