The generator used for emergencies at the health department building recently broke down. Board members discussed if the generator should have the part, called a “switch,” replaced.
Robert Grimm, board member, suggested they contact their insurance provider to determine if the generator part is covered and if insurance can offset the price of replacing or repairing the part.
Andrea Reel, nurse, who discussed the COVID-19 vaccines said, “we have been approved to provide vaccines for children who are six months and up.”
Reel told the board that there are currently very few cases of COVID-19 in the county, including the nursing home.
“The health department still has free at-home Covid tests available to those who may need them, as well as the covid vaccine and all boosters for those that may want or need them, “Reel said.
On the environmental side, Brooke Hott, registered sanitarian, said, “this has been the busiest year for wells and septics, but all of the inspections are complete.”
Effective July 14, Mariam Hedrick, board member for the Pendleton County Health Department, has resigned. Hedrick was a representative for the North Fork district of the county. Due to her resignation, the health department board will be seeking a replacement for her position.
