Jeffrey Harlan Mitchell, 62, of Strasburg, Virginia, passed away March 8, 2026, at his home.
He was born July 20, 1963, in Petersburg and was the son of Thelma Rebecca (Mitchell) Fleisher of Franklin and the late Harlan Lank Mitchell.
Mr. Mitchell was a 1981 graduate of Franklin High School and a 1985 graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor of science degree in geology.
He was senior environmental geologist for the office of Triad Engineering Inc. in Winchester, Virginia. He was registered as a professional geologist in Virginia and Pennsylvania, Knight of the Golden Horseshoe and licensed remediation specialist in West Virginia.
On Oct. 3, 1998, he married Diana Lynn (Hamrick) Mitchell, who survives.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by two daughters, Grace Elizabeth Mitchell and Abby Lynn Mitchell; and a number of cousins.
He was also preceded in death by an infant brother.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. March 21 at St. John Lutheran Church at Moyers with Pastors Paul Schaefer, Angela Lambert and Sherri Schaefer officiating.
