WVU Medicine Grant Memorial Hospital has once again received recognition for its commitment to excellence in orthopedic care. The hospital was recently awarded the Advanced Hip and Knee Replacement Certification by DNV Healthcare USA Inc. This certification acknowledges the hospital’s high standards in caring for patients in need of hip and knee replacements. It covers the full range of services — from the first diagnosis, through surgery, and into recovery and rehabilitation — ensuring patients receive safe, effective, and compassionate care close to home.

“This achievement is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire team,” said John Sylvia, CEO of GMH. “It shows our community that when they come to us for hip or knee replacement surgery, they can trust that they are receiving the very best care guided by nationally recognized standards and high-quality physicians.”

Dr. Joseph Hahn, chief of staff at GMH, added, “The center of excellence certification, that we have earned for the fourth time, started several years ago. It’s a testament to the hard work of our surgeons, perioperative nurses, and surgical technicians. With the help of the support staff at Grant Memorial, we have again shown the high level of care that we provide on a daily basis to the patients of Grant County. This certification helps to show our patients that we truly provide top-notch care close to home.”

GMH’s orthopedic program is built on evidence-based practices and the latest clinical guidelines from leading medical organizations. By earning this certification, the hospital continues to strengthen its role as a trusted provider of advanced care for patients in the region.
