Katherine Virginia (Smith) Nelson, 96, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, and formerly of Circleville passed away Dec. 26, 2024, in Goose Creek, South Carolina.
She was born on April 9, 1928, in Circleville, the daughter of the late Lester and Beulah (Calhoun) Smith.
Mrs. Nelson was a graduate of Circleville High School and a member of the St. James United Methodist in Goose Creek.
She retired as a secretary from Prince George’s District Schools.
Her husband, William Daniel Nelson, preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2012.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory three daughters, Kaye Nelson-Walski (Barry) of Mt. Airy, Maryland, Kathy Bertolini (David) of Monks Corner, South Carolina, and Jacqueline Nelson of Elkins; 11 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, William Daniel Nelson; three brothers, Conway, Bill and Richard; and two sisters, Rebecca and Mary.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Circleville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Gary Cecil officiating. Interment was in North Fork Memorial Cemetery at Riverton.
