Adalbert Eugene Hoover, 90, of Brandywine passed away Oct. 27, 2024, at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin.
He was born on May 14, 1934, in Moyers, the son of the late Raymond Ralph and Beulah Elisabeth (Moyers) Hoover.
Mr. Hoover was a 1954 graduate of Franklin High School and a member of St. Paul Independent Church.
He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, going to festivals, gardening and hunting. He was a very talented carpenter and painter, who had a special gift in woodworking.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a military policeman. He was a former member of the Franklin Moose Lodge #769.
On Oct. 8, 1960, he married Lorena (Bodkin) Hoover, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind to cherish his memory a son, Gregory Wayne Hoover of Brandywine; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Raymond Medford Hoover and Olin Louis Hoover.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jerry Smith officiating. Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery with military honors conducted by the U.S. Army, Camp Dawson.
