Davis Medical Center Cancer Care Center, a comprehensive cancer treatment facility in Elkins, announces the addition of Dr. Metlapalli Sravanthi to its team.
Sravanthi brings expertise in treating a wide range of cancers, with a special focus on leukemia, Myelodysplastic Syndromes, lymphoma, and solid tumor cancers. As a hematologist, Sravanthi diagnoses and treats disorders such as anemia, iron deficiencies, autoimmune hemolytic anemias, and hemochromatosis, among others.
She earned her medical degree from Government Medical College, University of Calicut, and completed her hematology and medical oncology fellowship at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. Her internal medicine residency was completed at The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Sravanthi to our team,” said Michael Galloway, MD, radiation oncologist and director of the DMC Cancer Care Center. “We’re very fortunate to have recruited a physician of her caliber. She provides outstanding patient care in medical oncology and hematology therapies.”
Sravanthi is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and The American College of Physicians.
She will work closely with Galloway and the multidisciplinary team of oncologists, surgeons, nurse practitioners, and support staff to provide comprehensive care that addresses both the physical and emotional needs of cancer patients.
She and her husband, Dr. Suma Kumaran, a nephrologist, have relocated to Elkins and look forward to the charm of a small town where best-in-class medical services are available.
