Sawyer Apple, Leah Bennett and Tegan Johnson have been named outstanding students of the month for October at Pendleton County Middle/High School.
Apple is the James Huffman Responsible Student of the Month. A senior, he is the son of Kyle and Jennifer Apple of Franklin. He was a member of the soccer team during his freshmen year and has proudly been an active member on the PCHS track and field team for four years. In 2024, he placed sixth in high hurdles and eighth in the 300m hurdles at the state track meet. Since 2015, he has participated in the Boy Scouts with the Scout Troop 162, where he has earned the Eagle Scout Award. He is also a member of the Franklin Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After graduation, he plans to attend college. He has not decided on a field of work, but he strives for a successful career and happy life.
Bennett is the Academic Student of the Month. A senior, she is an active member of the National Honor Society and Upward Bound. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her horses. After graduation, her plans are to earn an associate’s degree in radiologic technology and become an X-ray technician. She is the daughter of Phares Bennett and Judith Warner of Circleville.
Johnson is the Pendleton County Middle School Student of the Month. A seventh grader, he is the son of Travis Johnson and Desiree Conners of Franklin. He enjoys spending time outside and playing football. In the future, he has plans to become an engineer.
These students receive a T-shirt, $50 from Pendleton Community Bank, and movie, bowling and ice cream passes courtesy of South Branch Cinema 6 & South Branch Potomac Lanes.
