Carrigan Hedrick of Brandywine was selected for a $500 scholarship by the West Virginia Association of Family & Consumer Sciences.
Hedrick is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in fashion design and merchandising at West Virginia University. She is active in the Fashion Business Association, Textiles Club and Mountaineer Maniacs.
Elaine Bowen, WVU Family and Consumer Sciences, stated in a new release that the WVAFCS statewide organization connects family and consumer sciences professionals and offers leadership support and opportunities for professional development and collaboration. The organization annually recognizes outstanding academics and professional orientation to a student who is pursuing an undergraduate degree at a college or university in West Virginia and majoring in family and consumer sciences-related field.
